The story

How the campaign actually ran

Before Profit Labs™, this Austin roofing team had a decent foundation but not much momentum in search. They had a small number of page-one rankings, only one keyword in the top 3, and organic estimate requests were stuck around 6 per month. Their Google Business Profile had some review history, but not enough recent activity to stand out in a crowded local market. The main friction was simple: they did solid work, but when homeowners searched for roof repair, roof replacement, storm damage help, or nearby roofing companies, this brand was not showing up often enough to earn the call. They reached out because referrals alone were not creating steady lead flow, and they needed local SEO to become a reliable source of estimates.

## What we changed

First, we tightened the local content structure on the site. That meant rebuilding core service pages around the jobs people actually search for in Austin: roof repair, roof replacement, storm damage roofing, emergency tarping, and insurance-related roofing help. We also added supporting location and service content designed to answer common search intent clearly, with stronger internal links between related pages so Google could better understand the site.

Next, we handled the technical cleanup that was holding pages back. We improved title tags and meta descriptions, fixed weak heading structure, cleaned up thin or overlapping pages, and made sure the main service pages had clearer local signals. We also worked through crawl and index issues so important pages were easier for search engines to find and rank.

On the local track, Google Business Profile became a real focus. We refined categories, services, business descriptions, and photo activity, and we put a simple review process in place so more completed jobs turned into public feedback. We also cleaned up core citation listings to keep the business name, address, and phone information consistent across the web.

Finally, we added authority with steady backlink work. Instead of chasing volume, we focused on relevant links that made sense for a local roofing company, along with a few citation and directory placements that supported map visibility.

## Results

After 6 months, page-one keyword rankings grew from 9 to 53. Top-3 rankings moved from 1 to 18. That matters because top-3 positions are where local service companies start getting a meaningful share of clicks and calls, not just impressions.

Organic estimate requests increased from 6 per month to 41 per month. In practical terms, this team went from getting the occasional SEO lead to getting consistent inbound opportunities from homeowners already looking for roofing help. That usually means more phone calls, more inspection appointments, and a healthier pipeline without depending as heavily on paid ads or word of mouth alone.

Their Google Business Profile review count also rose from 47 to 112. That stronger review profile likely helped both conversion and local visibility. When homeowners compare roofers, review volume and freshness often influence who gets the call.

## 90-day plan from here

The next quarter is about turning these gains into something more durable. We’ll keep building out high-intent service and location pages, continue review growth, strengthen internal linking, and add a second layer of local authority links. The goal now is to hold the new rankings, push more page-one terms into the top 3, and turn search visibility into even more qualified estimate requests.

Budget plan is misnamed. We are getting Enterprise-level results for under $500 a month.
