Before Profit Labs™, this Charlotte auto body team had a solid reputation offline but very little search visibility to match it. They were not showing up in the Map Pack for the searches that matter most, and their site was only bringing in about 9 organic estimate requests a month. Just 4 keywords ranked on page 1, and their Google Business Profile was generating 88 actions a month. The main friction was simple: people nearby were searching for collision repair, dent repair, and body shop help, but competitors were getting the calls. They reached out because they needed more local visibility without taking on a big, custom campaign.
## What we changed
First, we cleaned up the local foundation. On the Budget plan’s local SEO track, that meant tightening up the Google Business Profile, making sure the primary and secondary categories matched the real services, rewriting the business description, updating service areas, and adding better photos and service-focused posts. We also worked through citation consistency so the shop’s name, address, and phone number matched across the main directories.
Next, we improved the website pages that should have been doing the heavy lifting. We expanded core service pages around collision repair, bumper repair, paint work, and dent repair so they matched the way people in Charlotte actually search. We also improved title tags, meta descriptions, headers, internal links, and on-page location signals. The goal was not to add fluff. It was to make each page clearer about what the shop does and where it does it.
We also handled technical issues that were holding the site back. That included improving crawl paths, cleaning up indexation noise, fixing weak page structure, and making sure key pages loaded cleanly on mobile. For a local service business, small technical problems can keep good pages from ranking. This part helped search engines understand the site more clearly.
Finally, we added authority in a practical way. We built a modest backlink and local mention profile through relevant business listings and niche-appropriate placements. Nothing fancy—just enough to support the location and service pages we wanted to move.
## Results
After 6 months, the shop went from 0 Map Pack top-3 rankings to 11. That matters because Map Pack visibility often turns into calls from people who need help now, not later. Organic estimate requests increased from 9 to 24 per month, a 167% lift. For this team, that meant more quote requests coming in without paying for each click.
Page-1 keyword rankings grew from 4 to 27, which gave the brand a much wider footprint across high-intent local searches. Google Business Profile actions rose from 88 to 312 per month, up about 255%. In plain terms, more people were finding the listing, clicking for directions, visiting the website, and calling the shop. For an auto body business, that usually means more booked estimates, more repair jobs, and a steadier flow of revenue from search.
## 90-day plan from here
Over the next quarter, we’ll keep building out service-plus-location relevance, add a few more supporting pages around repair intent, continue strengthening GBP engagement, and earn a small number of higher-trust local links. The focus now is to turn the early Map Pack wins into more consistent top-3 coverage and help the site convert that added visibility into more estimates.
